Helen Elliott

Helen Teresa Elliott born on November 6, 1906, passed away on Tuesday March 15, 2011. She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Bess Davis her husbands John Elliott and O.J. Brunkenhoefer and is survived by her first cousin June Dickson Clifford of Houston and second cousins and family Charles Clifford and wife Shelia, Nancy Rogers, Pollard Rogers and wife Deborah, Dickson Rogers and wife Kathleen, Billy Clifford and wife Patti, Sally Kelly, and Elizabeth Rogers.

Helen was born in Temple and spent most of her life here with the exception of when she and OJ married and lived in Austin and then Brownwood. She graduated from Temple High School in 1924 and attended The University of Texas.

In 2002 Helen was honored for her 50 years of service at the Scott White Clinic. She was 96 years old when she retired from the hospital. Helen, her mother Bess, Grandmother Cook, and her cousin Helen Cooper together served Scott White for almost 150 years

Helen was a sweet, funny, kind person full of spunk who was loved by all who knew her. Full of fun, she and John loved to go dancing on Saturday night. Always ready and willing to work an extra day, she was devoted to Scott White, her fellow workers and her church. Her family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at the Temple Meridian where Helen has lived since 1994. They have been very considerate and helpful.

Burial services will be held on Saturday March 19, 2011 at 11:30 AM at the Hillcrest Cemetery on 1st Street in Temple. Her family requests that memorials in her honor be sent to the Scott White Health Care Foundation, 2401 S. 31st Street, Temple, TX 76508.

HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of the arrangements.
