Harriett Smedley

Harriett Mickey Smedley, 86, of Belton passed away, Thursday, April 21, 2011 at a local hospital. No services are planned at this time. The family will conduct a private family service at a later date.

Mrs. Smedley was born October 15, 1924 to Harry and Dorothy Maben Hummell in Washington, D.C. She served in the U S Air Force as a flight nurse during the Korean Conflict and retired as a registered nurse at the Temple VA Hospital. She was a member of VFW Post 1820 and attended Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Harold P. Smedley of Belton sons, Matthew Smedley of Temple and Ralph Smedley of Belton 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
