Born and raised in Temple, George was a devoted husband and father. He loved his dogs Buddy and Romeo and with Mary loved to take them for walks in the park and drives around town. He was a lifelong parishioner at our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, a member of the brothers, active in the Acts Ministry and played in the 8 am choir. He was a 4th degree with the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed sponsoring many car shows to raise money for the parish. He was an accomplished musician and loved writing his own music. He played the saxophone, accordion and guitar. During his life he played with Mike and the Royal Tones, the Latin Glows, and Los Vientos de Christo. In 2016, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of recording a CD titled Que Bonito En Mi Corazon. He retired from Santa Fe Burlington Northern railroad after 30 years of service. He led an active life and loved spending time with his family, watching the Dallas Cowboys and UT Longhorns, playing softball, hunting, fishing, working in the yard with Mary and barbecuing.

He is preceded in death by his parents Genobeba and Gregorio Martinez Sr.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Mary; his sons, Michael with his partner Cesar, Eddie with his wife Shannon, and George Anthony with his fiancé, Kristy; his grandchildren, Alex and Ava; his brother Rickey Martinez; his sister, Janie Martinez; and innumerable nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
