Gordon Reed

alignjustifyGordon Earl Reed, 74 of Temple, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, July 29 at the funeral home with Pastor Brian West officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park.

alignjustifyGordon Reed was born November 29, 1933 to George Russell and Mary Alice Jacobs Reed in Green Township, Indiana. He served our country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958, and on June 8, 1958, he was married to Carolyn Mayberry in Flat, Texas. The couple then moved from Gatesville to Temple in 1964. Mr. Reed worked in maintenance for the Carpenter Company in Temple for over 30 years. He was a member of Canyon Creek Baptist Church in Temple. BRBR

alignjustifyMr. Reed is preceded in death by daughter, Cherie Lou Reed.BRBRSurvivors include wife, Carolyn Reed of Temple; son, Kevin Shawn Reed of Gig Harbor, Washington; daughter, Mary Catherine Champ of Temple; brother, John Reed of Indiana; sisters, Lucille Weston of Virginia, Judy Myers, and Evana Eisenhut, both of Indiana, and grandson, Josh Alan Champ of Little River.
