George Franz

Services for George Allen Franz, 75, of Austin, will be 12:00 noon on Friday, September 19, at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Temple with Pastor Rick Reed officiating.

Mr. Franz died Saturday, September 13, at a local hospital.

He was born December 8, 1938 in Bartlett, Texas to William George and Alta M. Franz. George served in the Texas National Guard for seven years. Prior to his retirement, he was the ownermanager of several radio stations, including KTEM, KPLE, KSAM, and KHUN. George also owned and managed several grocery stores.

Mr. Franz was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Annie Ruth Franz.

George is survived by a son, William A. Franz of Huntsville a daughter, Lisa Ann Franz of San Antonio and brothers Ronald D. Franz of Frisco and Douglas W. Franz of San Antonio.

Visitation will be from 10:00 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 19, at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage Park Nursing Center and New Century Hospice for the loving care they provided to George.

Memorial donations in Georges name may be made to the charity of your choice.
