Gary Giromini

Gary Paul Giromini, 64, of Temple, Texas passed from this life on Sunday June 4th, 2017 in Temple, after suffering for several years from Parkinson's Disease. A time of gathering and visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8th, from 6-8 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home, 500 W Barton Avenue in Temple. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 9th, at 9 a.m. at St Mary Catholic Church, 1018 S. 7th Street in Temple with internment immediately following in Bellwood Memorial Park.

Gary was born to Patricia and Joseph Giromini of Amarillo, Texas on October 31st, 1952. The third of their kids, he is survived by his siblings Mary Ann Everett, John and Kenneth. Gary raised a family of four children in Arlington, Texas with his ex-wife Cynthia Bullington-Upton. He is survived by his children Derek, Brandon, Rachel, and Jessica, their spouses, and eleven grandchildren. His dog, Simba, preceded him in death last Fall.

Gary will be remembered for his love of science fiction books and films, Ennio Maricone movies and soundtracks, fondness for his LP of the 1812 Overture, root beer floats, his homemade coffee cake and french toast, his talent for whistling, his skill in graphic design, his failures in growing tomatoes and strawberries, his love of the mountains in Northern New Mexico, his perfect handwriting, and his many hundreds of hours maintaining an impeccably landscaped lawn his kids enjoyed growing up in.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary's memory may be made to the Neurology Department of Baylor Scott and White Memorial Hospital, 2401 South 31st Street, Temple, Texas 76508.
