Garlin Joseph Green, 79 of Temple, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008 in a local hospital. Visitation will be 5:00pm-8:00pm Monday, July 28 with rosary recited at 7:00pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday, July 29 at the funeral home. Father Don Loftin will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Cyclone.
Garlin Joseph Green was born April 18, 1929 to William and Mathilda Helble Green in Meeks, Texas. He went on to serve our country in the United Stated Army, and on December 27, 1952, Garlin Green was married to Joyce Miller at St. Marys Catholic Church in Temple. He owned Garlin Greens Garage where he worked as a mechanic for 38 years. Mr. Green was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars as well as a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple.
Survivors include wife, Joyce Green of Temple; son, David Green and wife Deborah of Academy; son, Jay Green and wife Susan of Temple; son Alan Green and wife Melissa of Rogers; brothers Melvin Green of Rockadale, and Michael Green of Temple, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke Catholi Church in Temple, Texas, or Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633.
