Memorial services for Frederick Drury Ream, 81, of Temple, will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2014, at St. Marys Catholic Church with Father Steve Sauser officiating. Inurnment will take place at Temple Garden of Memories following the memorial service.
Mr. Ream died Sunday, October 19, at the Veterans Hospital in Temple.
Mr. Ream was born May 15, 1933, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Edgar Ream and Gertrude Schaffer Ream. He served in the United States Army for 21 years as a cook, retiring as a Staff Sgt. He attended TSTC and was the owneroperator of the Chili House in Lampasas and Bellmead. He also worked for the Temple Daily Telegram for twelve years and was a security guard in Waco. Mr. Ream was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, cooking chili, and collecting eagles. He was proudest of his role as a parent and grandparent.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, on March 31, 2003, daughter, Gertrude Ream, and sons Ray Johnson of Sheboygan, WI, and Frederick Ream, Jr..
Mr. Ream is survived by his children, Donald Ream and wife Ruby of Pflugerville, Thomas Ream and wife Rhonda of Texarkana, Sharon Ream of Ft. Worth, Fred Ream of Ft. Worth, Marie Clinard and husband Raymond, Becky Johnson of Temple, and Libbie Fox and husband Tom of Sheboygan, WI brothers Robert Ream of Tyler, Richard Ream of Tyler, Jim Ream and wife Betty of Wichita, Kansas fifteen grandchildren six greatgrandchildren four nieces and four nephews.
