Frankie Oleta Vaughan Byrd, 96, of League City passed away Sept. 20, 2012 in League City, TX. She was born on July 12, 1916 in Belfalls, Tx. to the late S.C. Vaughan and Betty R. Bridgewater. She was a graduate of Belfalls High School. She was a buyer for BrownDunkin, Dillards and Clarks Dept. Stores in Tulsa, Okla. and went to stores in NY, Dallas and Los Angeles. She lived in Tulsa after WWII until April 2002 then moved to Seabrook in League City TX. She married a young sailor from Indiana, Noel Creed Byrd on September 12, 1943 in Corpus Christi TX. They enjoyed traveling via American Airlines to reunions, and family affairs. They were always available to help others. They were faithful and working members of the Sequoyah Baptist Church in Tulsa, Okla.
She is survived by 3 sisters Chappell Davis of Ellicott, Maryland, Betty Sue Medford of Houston, Tx and Brooksie Nell McEvers of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Creed Byrd, her parents and 3 sisters: Mary Evelyn Cross, Julia Rebecca Jones and Kay Ada Vaughan and 1 brother Richard Vaughan.
Funeral Services will be Monday Sept. 24, 2012 at 10:A.M. at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Temple Chapel. Burial will follow services at Belfalls Cemetary. HarperTalasek Funeral Home Temple is in charge of services.
