Frank John Vanecek, Jr., 66, of Temple passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in a local hospital. He was born September 16, 1944 to Frank and Dorothy Hagan Vanecek in Temple. He had lived in this area his entire life. Frank was longtime manager for APKing Saver Grocery in Temple and was current manage for Lengefeld Lumber where he had worked for approximately the last 16 years. He was also a member of Elk Lodge 138, Centex Sportsman Club and Greater Killeen Fort Hood Bowling Association. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and spending time with his family.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joyce Calfee and nephew, Scott Ewing. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Vanecek of Temple sons, John Vanecek and wife, Michelle of Waco and Jeff Vanecek and wife, Kristyn of Temple stepdaughters, Sonja Ramirez and husband, Ralph, Kimberly Bruckbauer and husband, Kurt and Jessica Landeros and husband, Victor all of Temple sister, Frances Ewing of Temple and 8 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 68 p.m., Friday, September 16 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Harper Talasek Chapel with Rev. Jim Guess officiating. Burial will follow at Oenaville Cemetery.
