Frank John Gorubec, age 82, of Holland passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at a local hospital. Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 08, 2013 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple.
Mr. Gorubec was born March 29, 1931 in Granger, Texas to Anton and Annie Pavlasek Gorubec. He lived in Gary, Indiana before joining the Army on May 13, 1952. He served during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Korean Service Ribbon with two bronze service stars.
He worked for BNSF Railroad for many years and retired as a Yardman. He loved to fish on Lake Belton and loved to play poker.
Mr. Gorubec was preceded in death by his parents a sister, Josie Donaldson, and a brother, Robert Gorubec.
He is survived by one sister, Bernice West, a brother, Mark Butch Gorubec, and many nieces and nephews.
