Francisco Abrego

**RESCHEDULED** Due to the inclement weather, services for Francisco C. Abregohave been rescheduled for 2 pm Tuesday, February 8, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park & Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 5 – 7 pm, with Recitation of Holy Rosary at 6 pm Monday, February 7 at the funeral home.

Francisco C. Abrego, age 85 of Troy, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, February 4, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park & Cemetery in Temple.

Francisco was born on June 4, 1936, to Jacinto and Virginia (Coronado) Abrego in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He was a lovable person, and his smile could light up a room. His laugh was contagious. He loved the outdoors whether it was hot or cold. Francisco would herd his cattle in the morning. He loved drinking coffee late at night and early in the morning. When it came to eating, he would eat his food with a Coca-Cola on the side, then he wanted dessert afterwards. He loved sweets, especially Tres Leche Cake. Francisco loved to wear his cowboy hat and his boots, everywhere he went. He left so many memories with family and friends, and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Francisco is preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife, Maria Isabel Torres. He is also preceded by his brothers, Macario Abrego, Serapio Abrego, Gunifasio Abrego; his sister, Loretta Abrego; and his son, Ramon Abrego.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his son, Bernardo Abrego and wife, Teresa; son, Ramon Abrego; grandchildren, Maria Isabel Abrego, Lorena Abrego, Jennifer Abrego, and Marisol Abrego.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff of Baylor Scott & White ICU Department.

A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm with a Holy Rosary recited at 6 pm Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the funeral home.
