Florensio Rod Rodriguez, Sr., 88, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at his home. A Burial of Christian Mass will be 12:00pm, Friday, April 27, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Temple, TX, with Rev. Santiago Galindo Crespo, T.O.R. officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Temple, TX under the direction of HarperTalasek Funeral Home, Temple. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 5:007:00pm, at the funeral home. A rosary will follow the visitation at 7:00pm Thursday evening.
Florensio was born October 29, 1923 in Rosebud, Texas, the son of the late Cruz Rodriguez and Maxima Facundo Rodriguez. On October 18, 1951, he married Dominga Ramirez, she preceded him in death December 19, 2010. He was an Army veteran, who served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Florensio worked for Baldwin Hill Insulation for 15 years, and later retired from Ralph Wilson with 20 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Temple, Texas and a life time member of the VFW Post 1820. After retirement, he loved to work in his garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Dominga Ramirez Rodriguez.
Florensio is survived by his children: Amado Flores, Sr. and wife Aurelia Mary Jessica Lopez and husband Eugene Dolores Moreno, all of Ft. Worth Rev. Florencio Rodriguez, Jr. T.O.R. of Austin Fermin Rodriguez and wife Mary of Conroe Mary Helen Rodriguez and husband Pedro, Gloria Rodriguez both of Temple sister Vicenta Marin, 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 8 great, great grandchildren and many dear friends.
