Florene Hillyard

December 14, 1925 — January 20, 2010

Florene Nana Hillyard, 84 of Temple, passed away January 20, 2010 in a local hospital. Funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home chapel in Temple with Rev. Ernest Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

Florene Hillyard was born December 14, 1925 to James and Etta Virginia Rawlings Youngblood in Garrison, Texas. On July 14, 1945 she was married to M.H. Hillyard in Orange, Texas. She owned a daycare center, and she also worked as a homemaker. Mrs. Hillyard was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband on April 21, 1993, her parents, and brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: sons William Bill Hillyard, Jr. and his wife Beverly of Belton, and James Edward Hillyard of Heidenheimer, daughters Linda J. Bridges and husband Larry of Temple, and Martha Lou Hillyard of Temple, sisters Frances Sanford of Jackson, Mississippi, Billie Jean King of Beaumont, and Martha Lou Meyers of Chicago, Illinois, 6 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Scott White Hospice, 2401 S. 31st St., Temple, TX 76508.

Visitation will be 6:008:00pm Friday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple.
