A memorial service for Felix Barton Lancaster, 80, of Temple, will be from 6 8 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014, at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple with the Reverend Steve Sauser and the Reverend William C. Lancaster, Sr. officiating. Recitation of Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.
Mr. Lancaster died Monday, July 28, at his home in Temple.
Felix was born December 29, 1933, in Temple to Felix F. Lancaster and Joyce Williams Lancaster. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 1956 as a boilerman fireman. He later worked for the City of Temple as a Mechanic for many years. Felix lived in the Temple area for 48 years. He loved country music and played in many bands in the area, including the Otis Beck band and the Best Yet. He later formed his own band, the Country Sensation. Felix was a lifetime member of the Temple V.F.W. 1820 and a member of the Blue Jay RV Travel Club.
Mr. Lancaster is survived by his wife, Virginia Zabava Lancaster sons, David A. Lancaster and Felix A. Lancaster daughters Patricia A. White and Caroline A. Behr 9 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, and 3 greatgreatgrandchildren.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Felix name be made to Scott White Hospice, 2401 S. 31st Street, Temple, Texas 76508.
