Felicita Octiavana Gandara

Felicita O. Gandara, age 76 of Temple, Texas passed away peacefully Friday, December 22, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, January 5, 2024, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Felicita was born in Galveston, Texas on January 1, 1947. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when you needed her. She loved going to church and singing in the choir. Her favorite pastimes were dancing and listening to music. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very loved and will be greatly missed. She moved to Temple in 1985 from Comanche, Texas and was employed with Mobil Chemical for many years before retiring. After retiring, she became sick and had to deal with her health issues for many years.

Felicita was preceded in death by her parents, Anastacio Sanchez Sr., and Victoria Reyna Sanchez; husband of 35 years, Epifanio Gandara; son, Mark Gandara; brothers, Fortino Sanchez, Sr., and Martin Sanchez, Sr.; and sisters, Maria Teresa Sanchez Villanueva, Josephine Sanchez Salinas, Martina Sanchez, and Avelina Sanchez Trinidad.

Survivors include brothers, Domingo R. Sanchez of Oregon, and Anastacio Sanchez, Jr. of Comanche, Texas; sisters, Natividad Sanchez Lopez of Lubbock, Texas, Valentina Sanchez Lopez of Granbury, Texas, Santos Sanchez Castillo of New Mexico, Juanita Sanchez Esparza of Austin, Texas, Victoria Sanchez Guerrero of Comanche, Texas, and Elena Sanchez Martinez of Bryan, Texas; sons, Jose (Joey) E. Gandara Sr. and wife, Valerie of Troy, Oscar Gandara and wife, Irene of Troy, Fabian Gandara and wife, Jeannie of Troy, and Justo E. Gandara of Temple; daughter, Maria Dolores Fox and husband, Jon Fox of Temple; 9 grandchildren, Joey Gandara Jr., Amanda Castilleja, Matthew Gandara, Elizabeth Gandara, Cruz Fox, Christian Fox, Alexis Gandara, Santos Gandara, and Natalie Gandara; and 11 great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 5-8 pm with a holy rosary recited at 7 pm Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the funeral home.
