Evelyn Schiller

Evelyn Joyce Oswald Schiller, 79, of Temple will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday August 6, 2011 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple with a private burial to follow.
Visitation will be 68 p.m., Friday, Aug 5th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schiller was born August 27, 1931 at her home near Cayote, Texas. She graduated from Clifton High School and then completed nursing school.

She was married to Garland E. Schiller on July 5, 1952 at the Ocker Brethren Church by Rev. John Baletka.

She trained to become a registered nurse at Parkland Hospital in Dallas and then worked at Kings Daughters Hospital and the VA Hospital in Temple for many years until she retired. She died at her home in Temple, Wednesday morning, August 3, 2011.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Edward Oswald one daughter, Betty Tarver one brother, Ray Oswald and one sisterinlaw, Joan Oswald.

She is survived by her husband, Garland Schiller of Temple three daughters, Mary Catherine Polasek and her husband, Joseph of Snook Theresa Brown and her husband, Jim of Katy and Barbara Schiller of Troy one soninlaw, Robert Tarver of Conroe and one niece, Jole Galvan and her husband, Jesse of Houston.

She is also survived by 2 granddaughters and 4 grandsons, Christie Scambray and her husband, Jamie of College Station Angie Kelly and her husband, Corey of Needville Douglas Polasek and his wife, Shana of Katy Brett Legendre and his wife, Christy of Needville Jason Legendre of Needville and Travis Billeck of Troy and also by 6 great grandchildren.

All of the grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, the Ocker Brethren Cemetery, or any charity of your choice.
