Ethel Louise Johnson

Ethel Louise Johnson, 87, of Temple, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2026.

She was born on April 28, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, to Carl and Mary Johnson. Ethel devoted 25 years of her life to serving others as a nurse, a career that reflected her compassionate spirit and lifelong dedication to caring for those in need.

Ethel found joy in life’s simple pleasures — spending time with her dogs, enjoying a good game of poker, and taking long walks along the beach. She was a devoted caretaker to family and friends, always placing the needs of others beforeher own and offering comfort, kindness, and quiet strength to everyone she met. The light that she has brought the world made it a much better place for everyone and she will be dearly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mary Johnson, and her beloved son, Jason Dearwater, and daughter, Thia Dearwater. She is survived by her two sons, Darin and Brett Dearwater. Services are entrusted to Harper-Talasek Funeral Homes and are currently pending.
