Services for Estefana Alcocer, 96, of Temple will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple with Father Steve Sauser officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Ms. Alcocer was born December 16, 1918 in Maxwell, Texas to Pedro Rodriguez and Amelia Euresti Rodriguez. She moved from Rosebud to Temple in 1958, where she lived the remainder of her life. Estefana was a hard-working woman and was employed as a cook at El Chacho Restaurant for many years. She loved music, dancing, and visiting amusement parks with her family. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Ms. Alcocer was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Amelia Rodriguez.
She is survived by her sons, Pete (Camelia) Rodriguez, Samuel Cerda, David (Yolanda) Cerda, Jesse (Raquel) Cerda, Tom (Stephanie) Martinez, Margarito Martinez, and Tony Martinez; a daughter, Virginia Martinez; and thirty grandchildren.
Serving as pall-bearers will be Tom Martinez, Eduard Martinez, Jesse Cerda, Margarito Martinez, David Cerda, Juan Martinez, Jesse Cerda, Jr., and Juan Gabriel Aguallo.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, June 19 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Recitation of Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m.
