Ernie D. Altic, 75 of Temple, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, July 25, 2010 in Temple. Funeral service will be 10:00am Friday, July 30, 2010 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple with Pastor Kim officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Garden of Memories. There will be a reception held at the Korean Baptist Church in Temple following interment.
Mr. Altic was born August 20, 1934 to Andrew Jackson and Zoo Ella Brines Altic in Polk County. He proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1954 to 1974. During this time, he earned a Bronze Star Medal and an Army Commendation Medal. On December 15, 1969, he married Son Soon in South Korea. He worked as a security guard for MobilPactiv. Mr. Altic was a member of the Korean Baptist Church in Temple where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2006.
Survivors include: sons Andrew Jackson Altic of Temple, Andrew Fritz Altic, Walter Altic, and Ernie D. Altic, Jr. all of Oklahoma, daughters Caroline Sue Altic Sanchez of San Antonio, Zoe Ella Altic, Angela Hodges, Patricia Arnold, and Sharon Newton, all of Oklahoma, sisters Bettie Erwin and Faye Trask both of Missouri, and grandchildren Joshua, Caroline Stephanie, Drew, Katie Landrey, April, Alice, Megan, Tiffany, Alison, Jonathan, Tabitha, Rachel, Brittnee, and Donnie.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
Visitation will be 6:008:00pm Thursday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple.
