Ernest Mungia

A mass of Christian burial for Ernest Perez Mungia, 68, of Temple, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Temple. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr. Mungia died Monday, October 7, 2013, at his residence.

He was born June 20, 1945 in Yorktown, Texas to Simon Mungia, Sr. and Sostanez Perez Mungia. He married Rufina Zaragoza on May 23, 1966 in Temple, Texas. They were long time residents of the Temple area and were members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Mr. Mungia was a welder by trade and was a loyal Dallas Cowboy fan to the end. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and numerous siblings.

He is survived by his daughters, Natalie Olalde and Lucy Tapia, both of Temple his brother, Alfred Mungia, Sr., of Temple a grandson, Ernest Trejo, and wife Misty, of Troy and one greatgrand daughter, Alexis Trejo.

Visitation will be 5 8:30 p.m. Friday, October 11 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple. Recitation of rosary will be at 7 p.m.
