alignjustifyErnest Leo Brown, 86 of Belton, died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at a local hospital. Visitation will be 6:00pm-9:00pm Monday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 10:00am Tuesday at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. BRBRErnest Leo brown was born July 20, 1922 to Joe Frank and Bobbie Era Allen Brown in Hillsboro, Texas. In 1939, he enlisted in the National Guard, and was mobilized into the regular United States Army, 36th Division. He served our country in WWII. On August 24, 1940, he married Bertha M. Alewine in Hillsboro. Mr. Brown worked as a self employed accountant for over 42 years, and worked in and around Temple, Belton, and Harker Heights. He retired in 1990. He also worked as a volunteer fireman. Ernest Brown was a member of the Lions Club, and The American Legion, and a member of the Church of Christ.BRBRSurvivors include wife of 68 years, Bertha M. Brown of Belton, son Jerry Leo Brown and wife Mitzie of East Bernard, daughters; Vivian Annette Cardwell and husband Bill of Belton and Kazel Lynette Cheek and husband David of Cypress, Sister Hannah Lookingbill of Friona, 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
