Erik Lopez

Services for Erik Patrick Lopez will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 27, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple with Father Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

Erik died Wednesday, April 22, at a local hospital.

Erik was born March 17, 1981 in Temple to Roberto Lopez, Sr. and Alice Pedroza Lopez. Erik graduated from Temple High School where he played football and was on the track team. He attended a high-tech institute in Arizona, where he worked for the InTel Corporation while living in Phoenix. Upon returning to Temple, Erik worked first for Sprint, and lastly as a Medical Recorder for Scott and White Hospital. He enjoyed etching glass and watching his favorite teams, the Pittsburg Steelers and the Texas Longhorns. Erik was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Erik was preceded in death by his father, Roberto Lopez, Sr.

He is survived by his step-father, Edward Mares; mother, Alice Lopez-Mares; brother, Roberto Lopez, Jr. and wife Stephanie; niece, Taylor, nephew Cooper, and best friend Kenny McGee.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Recitation of Rosary will be at 7 p.m.
