Era Franklin Frank Dragoo 62 of Troy, died suddenly and unexpectedly Saturday, July 2, 2011. He was born in 1949 in Temple, TX to the late Barney Velma Dragoo and Prebble Corine Rosser Dragoo. He is survived by his wife, Nelia Beth Webster Dragoo of Troy, daughters Cari Kemp and her husband Joshua Kemp of Euless, TX, Marie Dragoo and Michelle Dragoo of Temple and Rachael Dragoo of Troy, two grandchildren Chloe and Terra of Temple sisters, Elsie Bryant of Sulphur Springs, TX, Dixie Stewart of Denton, TX and Dorothy Dragoo of Temple, his brothers Carlton Corky Dragoo of Troy, Daniel Dragoo of Temple, Paul Dragoo of Denton, TX, Darrell Dragoo of Temple, and David Dragoo of Troy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday July 6, 2011 at St Mary Catholic Church Temple Texas.
Visitation will be from 57p.m Tuesday July 5th 2011 at Harper Talasek funeral home in Temple with the Rosary held at 7 p.m.
Frank joined the United States Navy in April of 1967, leaving service in January of 1971. He earned the National Defense Service Metal, the Vietnam Service Medal 1 star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He obtained an Associate Degree from Temple Junior College and worked in sales most of his life. Frank has been a member of St Mary Catholic Church for over 30 years, and is a member of the American Rifle Association and the Temple Gun Club. While his daughters attended school, he was active in the Troy Band Association and helped run the concession stand at Troy football games for over five years. Frank enjoyed spending time outdoors and tending to his land.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Elizabeth Iva Jean Dragoo, Maggie Corine Dragoo, and Joyce Nell Dragoo, brother Barney Rosser RB Dragoo.
Pallbearers for the service are Brad Dragoo, Jake Dragoo, James Bryant, John Paul Dragoo, Luke Dragoo, Nathan Dragoo, Robert Dragoo, and Tommy Campbell.
