Emma Rean Pinkert, age 99 of Temple, passed from this life Monday, December 26, 2022, at Cornerstone Gardens Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Services will be held at 11 am Friday, December 30, 2022, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Temple. Burial will follow in Greathouse Cemetery.
Emma was born on December 10, 1923, to John J. Meier and Gertrude Fabianke Meier in Barclay, Texas. She graduated from Troy High School. Emma worked at American Desk Manufacturing Company in Temple until retirement. She was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church and Alter Society. Emma loved gardening, and spending time with her granddaughters and great grandchildren. She married Lawrence Pinkert on November 18, 1947, and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2004.
She is also preceded by her brother, J.D. Meier; and sisters, Odell Baca, Gertrude Herzog, Ailene Arndt, and Johnnie Maye Childs.
Survivors include her son, Michael Pinkert and wife, Mary of Morgan’s Point Resort; daughter, Bernice Bulls and husband, Curtis of Temple, Texas; 4 granddaughters, Ashley Miller, Kristen Villalobos, Jennifer Baker, and Libby Sheard; and 14 great grandchildren, Joseph, Alyssa, Jaden, Joslynn, and Anthony Villalobos, Kynsleigh, and Carson Miller, Nate, Cade, Mo, and Ellie Baker, and Alex, Jaycie, and Miles Sheard.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm with a Rosary recited at 6 pm Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
