Elsie Holtman

Services for Elsie D. Holtman, 98, of Temple will be 11:00 am on Thursday December 3, 2015 at St. Luke's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Westphalia, TX.
Elsie was born April 29, 1917 to Wallie H. Stamman and Annie Harms Stamman in Travis, Texas. She grew up in Barkley, Texas and attended Marlin Hospital Nursing Program where she became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Elsie married Anton Holtman in 1937 and they were blessed with two children. The family farmed in Westphalia where she enjoyed gardening and quilting. Elsie worked for Kings Daughters Hospital and retired from Scott and White Hospital in 1984 to be a caregiver to her husband. She is a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years; two grandchildren; three brothers; Otto, Alvin, and Herman; and one sister, Alma; and one great-grandchild.
Survivors include her children; William Holtman and wife Kay, and Shirley Ann Lehman, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm with Rosary recited at 7pm on December 2nd at the Funeral Home Chapel.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Elsie's wonderful neighbors and friends for their love and care shown to her over the years.
