Eliseo was born March 9, 1958 to Eliseo and Eudelia (Gutierrez) Hernandez, Sr. in Skidmore, Texas. Living in Temple most of his life, Eliseo was a huge family man and loved cooking briskets and entertaining family and friends. He was a perfectionist and a hard worker, always willing to lend a helping hand when someone was in need. His family will always remember fondly his infectious laugh, personality and what a good man he was. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids and counted himself lucky to have such a wonderful, large family. He was devoted to his Dallas Cowboys and especially proud while watching them BEAT THE REDSKINS! He had a sweet spot for his beloved Chihuahuas, especially Canelo, and liked to boat and fish in his free time. He also could often be found playing pool, listening to good Tejano music and knew how to enjoy life.
Eliseo was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Daniel Hernandez; and sisters, Maria Garza and Alicia Hernandez.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife, Gloria; his sons, Eliseo Hernandez, III and Luis Hernandez and wife, Elizabeth; his daughters, Liz Hernandez, Betsy Suarez and husband, Tony and Julie Hernandez; his brothers, Ysreal Hernandez and wife, Delia and Chico Hernandez and wife, Sarah; his sisters, Teresa Martinez and husband Philip and San Juanita Donoso and husband, John.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Sunday, October 21 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple with a Rosary recited at 7 pm.
