Elisabeth Friedrich

July 21, 1940 — February 11, 2017

Mass of Christian Burial for Elisabeth Friedrich, 76 of Zabcikvillle, will be 11 a.m. Saturday February 18, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cyclone with Father George Thirumangalam officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cyclone.

Mrs. Friedrich passed from this life peacefully on Saturday, February 11, at her home while surrounded by her loving family.

Elisabeth Friedrich was born July 21, 1940 in Bodenmais, Germany to Xavier Dresely and Maria Dresely. She met and married John Friedrich Sr. while he was stationed in Germany with the Army. Their time as a military family gave them the opportunity to live in many different and exciting places all over the world. Elisabeth was always elated with the several times they moved back to Germany where she and her family there could reconnect. In every move they made, her church was one of the first things that she sought out. It was from the church that she always found a sense of community and church family. She loved to serve her community, volunteering in many different roles with the church and other various organizations.

Her heritage was always a large part of who she was as a woman, and especially a mother and grandmother. It was from her homeland and the family she had there that she brought her strong family ties to her own family. It was this belief that she taught to all of her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. Over the last few years of her life in illness, it was her three grandchildren that always spent as much time as they could by their sweet Oma's side. Elisabeth loved to spend time at all of her grandchildren's sporting events and other activities. She also adored her Toy Poodle's Candy and Precious, and even the occasional parakeet she owned.

She was an enthusiastic soccer fan, cheering on her beloved Bayern Munich and the Deutschland National Team. When there was something to celebrate in life, her family fondly remembers that it was always her choice to go to Red Lobster. She was a simple and gentle soul that will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Friedrich was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Paula Treml and Regina Hackinger.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her husband, John Friedrich Sr.; sons, John Friedrich Jr. and wife Tina of Zabcikville, TX, and Charly Friedrich and wife Kirstin of Woodstock, GA; grandchildren, Jacob, Julia, and Jeremy Friedrich all of Zabcikville, TX; and a sister, Leni Mette and her husband Ernst of Dachau, Germany, as well as her many nephews and nieces in Dachau.
There will be a time of visitation and fellowship on Saturday, February 18, from 9-11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cyclone.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of arrangements.
