Elaine Julia Anthony Goodboard, 70, passed peacefully on May 10, 2017 at her home surrounded by her devoted husband John Dennis Goodboard, and other loving family members. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Clair Ezekiel Anthony and Evelyn Catherine Smith, and her brothers Lawrence Anthony and Gordon Anthony. She is survived by her husband John Dennis Goodboard; daughter Kimberly Stocker, son-in-law Mark Bigler; and her brother Wayne Anthony.
Elaine was born January 2, 1947, in Easton, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Phillipsburg High School. On June 14, 1975 she and John were married in Pawling, New York; the town in which they met. After that, John reentered the service and was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. After living in Temple, they moved into the home of their dreams in Moody, Texas. It's an idyllic setting that Elaine referred to as "The Farm" and they shared it lovingly with their many pets.
Elaine had a long work history, starting at the Pawling Rubber Corporation. When she and John moved to Texas, she started her career at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas in 1976 and continued there until her retirement on January 2, 2009. While there, her many and varied skills were used in working as an Aide, Desk Clerk, Registration Clerk, Clerk for Orthopedists, and as an Insurance Verifier.
Elaine, being multi-talented, was not content to work only at Scott and White. She was also a Mary Kay representative for 25 years. Additionally, Elaine was a skilled seamstress and craftsperson. She skillfully sewed many costumes, dresses, and items for the home. She crafted ceramic pieces that can be seen throughout her home.
In addition to a career and avocation, Elaine later in life took a "back seat" to her husband on the "back" of his motorcycle. Together they toured 48 states and parts of Canada, traveling over 90,000 miles.
Everyone who knew Elaine and was gifted by her gracious personality misses her deeply. However, her suffering is over and her smile shines through to all.
