Edwin Haskovec

Services for Edwin Hubert Haskovec, 95 of Temple, will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday October 16, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Pastor Rick Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Edwin H. Haskovec died on Monday, October 9, 2017 at a local care facility.

Edwin Hubert Haskovec was born March 16, 1922 to Frank Haskovec and Mary Luksa Haskovec in Ennis, Texas. Edwin was raised on the family farm and graduated from Ennis High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married the love of his life Kathryn Spurlock in 1946. He worked for Firestone and then Western Auto until his retirement. After retirement he farmed his property. He was a devoted Cowboys fan. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a dedicated family man and attended Urban Park Independent Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 64 years; a son; and a two brothers, Frankie and Melvin Haskovec.

Survivors include his son, Edwin Robin Haskovec, and a grandson, Jeremy Bigham.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Temple Animal Shelter, 620 Mama Dog Circle, Temple, TX 76501.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple and from 1:00 - 2:00 pm before the service.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
