Services for Edward Lee Manning, 80, of Temple will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 31, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Temple with Father Tom Chamberlain officiating, followed by lunch at the church. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Killeen with Father Ranjan Cletus officiating.
Edward Lee Manning died on Sunday, July 23, 2017 in a care facility in Round Rock, Texas.
Edward Lee was born in Taylor, Texas on September 18, 1936 to Edward Vincent Manning and Audrey Marie Williams Manning. Edward served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958 as a Staff Sergeant. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1962. Edward worked for the Soil Conservation Service and then the Farmers Home Administration from 1962 until he retired in 1991. He was a resident of Temple for 52 years.
He is survived by his children, Steve Manning of San Marcos, Teresa Manning of San Marcos, Linda Ray and husband Larry of Port Lavaca, Vince Manning and wife Rose of Austin, and Connie Robertson and husband John of Georgetown; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers.
Edward was preceded by his parents; sister, Shirley Bates; and brother, Norman Manning.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Harper Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple.
Arrangements are in the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
