Edward Brenek, Sr.

Edward Emil Brenek, 96, passed away at a local care facility. A Mass of Christian burial has been set for Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Luke Catholic Church Temple at 1pm. Burial to follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Father James Ekeocha will officiate.
Edward was born in Seaton, Texas on May 9, 1916 to John and Frances Vasicek Brenek. He worked for Griggs Equipment for 20 years as head of maintenance. He married Wilma Hanacik on November 10, 1947 in Temple. He was a member of the KJT in Cyclone 57 and a lifetime farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Brenek, parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his children one daughter Doris Bruggman of Temple, sons Edward Brenek, Jr. of Temple, Richard Brenek of Buckholtz, Marvin Brenek of Temple, Ernest Brenek of Temple, Albert Brenek of Temple, sister Frances Kohut of Temple, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a host of dear friends. A visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2013 from 68 pm with a rosary at 7pm at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Temple.
