Services for Edsel Eddie Nile Poquette, 79 of Temple will be 10:00am Friday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.
Mr. Poquette passed away Monday, November 8 at his residence.
Mr. Poquette was born November 12, 1930 to Joseph and Victorine Charles Poquette in Kingford, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1956 and was sergeant first class. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division, and then was assigned to the 8th Army, where he served in active duty in Japan during the Korean War. He worked as a conductor for Santa Fe RailroadBNSF for 38 years retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, and was a member of the VFW. He was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by Martha Poquette in 2007, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters.
Survivors include four daughters, Sharon Poquette of Salado, Paula Fulton and husband Wayne of Temple, Sheree Crawford and husband Steve of Morgans Point, and Cathy Walker and husband Doyle of Plano, a brother, Clayton Poquette of Wisconsin, two sisters, Anna Polczinski of Wisconsin and Gerty Bray of Michigan, 5 grandchildren,Chris Walker, Kristin Patterson, Jess Fulton, Kasie Herrmann and Josh Crawford. Two great grandchildren, Jake Walker, Lily Patterson.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Eddie enjoyed his 38 years with the railroad, when he was not working he loved gardening and cooking for his family.
