Edna Simecek

Edna E. Simecek, age 95 of Temple, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at a local hospital. Private services will be held by the family.

Edna was born on October 29, 1925, to Emil and Mary Michalka of Cameron, Texas. She married Joe Paul Simecek on May 10, 1952, at St. Monica Catholic Church in Cameron, Texas.

Edna is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Joe Simecek.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her children, Pat Simecek of Temple; Robert Simecek of Temple; Eileen (Harold) St. Amant of Temple; Nancy (Dewayne) Mesecke of Zabcikville; grandchildren Amanda (Jason) Bedrich of Rogers, Anthony (Becky) St. Amant of Fort Worth, Melissa Mesecke of Temple, Matthew Mesecke of Temple, and Megan (Tim) Henderson of Houston, great-grandchildren Logan Schuetze of Rogers, Kylie Bedrich of Rogers, and Tucker Henderson of Houston; and sister, Alma Simecek of Cameron.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, 1018 S. 7th Street in Temple or to Scott & White Cancer Center, 2401 S. 31st Street in Temple.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm with a Rosary recited at 6 pm Friday, November 6, 2020, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
