Edna Stokes Knauth, 90 of Temple passed away Sunday, June 27 in a nursing facility in Bartlett. Visitation will be 68 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartlett where she was baptized, confirmed and married. Pastor Michael Swink will officiate. Interment will be in Bartlett City Cemetery.
Edna was born August 2, 1919 to A.C.A. and Eliese Liese Braun in Bartlett. She married William C. Bill Stokes. Together they owned and operated the John Deere Farm Equipment where she was bookkeeper. Bill preceded her in death June 3, 1977. She later married Raymond Knauth July 28, 1981 and he preceded her in death March 9, 1998. Edna was a Lutheran and a member of First Lutheran Church in Temple where she was organist for many years. Edna also taught music for 20 plus years at Nettleton Kindergarten.
Edna is preceded in death by her parents, husbands , 5 siblings and granddaughter, Sandra Stokes. She is survived by son, Bruce B. Stokes and his wife, Connie of Georgetown grandchildren, Brian Collins Stokes and Shelly Ann Ondich 3 great grandchildren, Katie Stokes, Ryan Ondich and Paige Stokes.
HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
