Graveside services for Edith Carol McCall Woodfin, 90, of Port Aransas, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.

Ms. Woodfin died Saturday, October 26, at her home.

She was born April 9, 1923, to George Montgomery and Edith Pearl Davis McCall in Temple, Texas. She graduated from Temple High in 1940 and subsequently earned a bachelors and masters degree from Baylor University and a Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Texas.

Ms. Woodfin was a professor at Baylor University and TSTC in Waco for 30 years, worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 14 years, and was the owner of Woodfin Beach Houses in Port Aransas since the late 1950s. She was the former Texas State DAR Regent and a longtime member of the Henry Downs DAR Chapter in Waco a member of the National Society of New England Women a member and loyal supporter of Baylors Old Main Society a member of the Port Aransas city council and Chair of the Keep Port Aransas Beautiful Committee Chair of the American Volkssport Association of Corpus Christi and a supporter of the Port Aransas Preservation and Historical Society.

Ms. Woodfin is survived by a son, Thomas McCall Mary Woodfin of Norman, Oklahoma a daughter, Amy Carol Woodfin of Ferndale, Washington two sisters, Margaret McCall Milner of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jean McCall Patterson of Temple and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Port Aransas Preservation and Historical Association, P.O. Box 677, Port Aransas, Texas 78373.
