Dwight Huckabee

Services for Dwight "Huck" Layne Huckabee, 65, of Temple, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Pastor Jay Thomas officiating.

Mr. Huckabee died Tuesday, June 14, at a local hospital.

Dwight Layne Huckabee was born June 16, 1950 in Temple, Texas to Mack Huckabee and Mary Janeway Huckabee. He lived in Temple all of his life and married the former Janet Wood. He was a machinist by profession and was also a gunsmith and knife maker. His specialty was miniature knives. Huck was a jack of all trades and loved fishing, hunting, shooting sports, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Mary Huckabee.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Wood Huckabee; sons, Travis Huckabee and wife LeeAnn, and Joshua Huckabee; brother, Dayne Huckabee and wife Donna; and granddaughters Kaylynn Huckabee and Mackenzie Huckabee.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, June 17, at the funeral home.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
