Dusty Dawn Engelholm, 48, of Temple, Texas, passed away on February 4, 2026, in Cameron, Texas. Born on September 15, 1977, Dusty lived her life with a fiery spirit, a faithful heart, and a love that reached far beyond herself.

Dusty was truly one of a kind — feisty in the best way, endlessly caring, and known for having the biggest heart in the room. She loved deeply and unapologetically, always showing up for the people she cared about. Her faith guided her life, and her kindness left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She found joy in the simple, meaningful moments: drawing, playing Skip-Bo, and spending time surrounded by family and friends. Butterflies held a special place in her heart — a symbol of beauty, transformation, and freedom — much like Dusty herself, who brought light and color wherever she went.

Dusty was preceded in death by her father, David Engelholm and her grandparents, Roy Lee and Joyce Engelholm and Frank Schwake who welcomed her home with open arms.

She is survived by her loving mother, Vickie Garner, and stepfather, Harold Garner; her sisters, Melissa Ortiz and husband Nick Ortiz, Amber Craft and husband Christopher Craft; and step sister Brandi Rowe and husband David Rowe. Grandmother, Lou Ann Schwake and her cherished nieces and nephews: Rachel Hubbard, Heston Hankins, Kolby Schumacher, Destiny Noska, McKayla Campbell, Melody Schumacher, Bailey Schumacher, Hunter Fowler, Marcus Ortiz, McKinley Ortiz, Riley Craft, Wyatt Craft and great nieces and nephews. She was a devoted daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, great aunt; and her love for her family knew no limits.

Dusty’s spirit will live on in shared memories, quiet moments of faith, laughter around a card table, and every butterfly that gently reminds us she is still near. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
