Services for Dorothy Sue Cearley, 92, of Belton, will be at a later date. Mrs. Cearley passed away Tuesday, January 16, at a care facility in Belton.
Dorothy Sue Cearley was born January 27, 1925 in Troy, Texas to R.Q and Geneva Thomas. She graduated from Troy High School and, in 1942, married her high school sweetheart, Dale Cearley. She was a proud military wife and enjoyed decorating and sharing holiday meals with friends, family and neighbors. She was an excellent seamstress. She worked for Woolworths Five & Dime for a time, and later retired from Hancock Fabrics.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Vicky Bierschenk; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Terry Cearley and his wife, Connie; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dorothy's honor may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation, to Park Place Manor in Belton, or to Southern Hospice.
Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
