Dorothy Carter

Services for Dorothy Ruth Carter, 87, of Temple will be at 1 pm Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple.

Ms. Carter went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at a local hospital.

She was born on October 5, 1927 to Joseph Ham and Exie Mae Cochran Ham in Atlanta, Georgia where she graduated High School. Dorothy was a military wife of 31 years stationed in Germany, Hawaii, and El Paso, Texas. She was a homemaker and a preschool teacher for many years at Immanuel Baptist church.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, James M. Carter.

Survivors are her two daughters Janice Shuler and husband Wayne of Troy, Texas, Sheila Arnold and husband Sam of Weatherford, Texas two brothers three sisters three grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

Charitable donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association 1701 N. Beauregard Street Alexandria, VA 22311.

Visitation will be on Tuesday December 30, 2014 from 111 pm at the funeral home.
