Dorothy Ann Friemel Alexander, 79, cherished wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away in Temple, Texas on August 22, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents August A. Friemel, Jr. and Selma Marie Ida Eckert Friemel.
She is survived by her husband Don Alexander, son Raymond Alexander, son Wade Alexander and wife Jessica, Sister Lillie Friemel Bible, Grandchildren: Cody Alexander and wife Taylor, Chelsea Ryon, Carson Alexander and wife Taylin, Jared Alexander and Jake Alexander. Great Grandchildren: Brody, Kohen, Kinleigh, Camden, Knoelle and Collins.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of a host of other relatives, classmates, colleagues, and friends.
Dorothy Ann Friemel was born September 17, 1944, in Fredericksburg, Texas to August and Selma Friemel.
She had fond memories from her early childhood in Johnson City and graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1962.
She met the love of her life Don Alexander in Marble Falls, Texas in the spring of 1963 and they married on December 1st, 1963, in Kerrville. They spent 60 wonderful years together.
Dorothy spent her professional years at the Internal Revenue Service and retired after 35 years of service.
Dorothy was a friend to many— always kind, gentle and tender-hearted. She had a soft spot for any animal, especially cats. Dorothy was an avid reader and collector of books, she inspired a love of reading in others, and she joined her fellow booklovers, the Friends of the Temple Public Library, to raise money twice a year for the public library. Dorothy also enjoyed volunteering her time as the secretary to the Austin Area Car Club and quilting with her friends at St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Her favorite past-time was spending time outdoors with her family and friends hunting at the deer lease.
On Wednesday, August 28th there will be a Viewing 10am-12pm, Visitation 12pm-1pm, Funeral 1pm-2pm at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home; 500 W Barton Ave, Temple, TX 76501.
