Services for Doris Florene Lancaster, 97, of Temple, will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 4 at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple. Burial will follow in procession to Lancaster Cemetery.
Doris Florene Lancaster passed away on Wednesday, September 28 at her residence.
Doris Florene Lancaster (Foster) was born on September 3, 1919 to Forest F. Foster and Minnie Anna Jackson Foster in Belton, Texas. She graduated from a country school by Cedar Valley. She married at the age of 19 to James Henry Lancaster. She was a proud mother to her five children. She was homemaker and made the best homemade bread. She was a devout member of the 15th Street Church of Christ. Ms. Lancaster had a hobby of hand quilting blankets and shared them with her family and friends. She was very handy around the house. She was great at home decorating with painting and carpentry. She was a dedicated gardener and tended to her flowers even up to the time of her passing.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 50 years; two sons, T.E Lancaster and Nathan Lancaster; a daughter, Francine Lancaster; three brothers, Frank Foster, Raymond Foster, Wilber Foster; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include son, Jim Lancaster; daughter, Donna F. Lancaster-Watson; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
The family wishes to express a special thank-you to the 15th Street Church of Christ for their support.
Visitation will be held from 5:00- 8:00 pm on Monday, October 3 at the funeral home.
Arrangements are in the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
