Dora Flores Solorzano

Dora Flores Solorzano, age 75, of Temple, passed from this life Monday, July 21st, 2025. Services will be held at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple on Saturday, August 2nd, with a visitation starting at 3 p.m. and service immediately following at 4:30 p.m.

Dora was born on April 1st, 1950, to Marcello and Carmen Flores in Temple, Texas. She married Carlos Solorzano in February 1989. Dora received her master's in education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and went on to work in the Dallas Independent School District. She spent more than 30 years of her life as a passionate teacher dedicated to helping her students excel. Most of her career was spent at Urban Park Elementary in Dallas. Dora became an integral part of the school and surrounding community, often being recognized by students and their families everywhere she went.

Dora’s wonderful sense of humor was sure to make those around her laugh. She loved crafts of all kinds and enjoyed making celebrations or get-togethers special with food, favors, and more. She will be dearly missed.

Dora is preceded by her parents, Marcello and Carmen Flores.

Survivors include her husband, Carlos Solorzano; daughter, Carla Solorzano; and brothers, Larry Flores, and Marty Flores.
