Donna Ruth Prewitt White, a compassionate and loving soul, passed from this life Sunday, September 22, 2024, in Temple, Texas, at the age of 68. Born on July 18, 1956, in Denver, Colorado, Donna radiated warmth and kindness throughout her life, touching the hearts of many.
As a phlebotomist, her professional dedication was paralleled only by her unwavering commitment to helping others. Known for her forgiving nature, Donna fostered an environment of love and understanding wherever she went. Her devotion to her grandchildren was boundless, and it was through her love for them that her greatest joys were expressed. She would often say she was "cut from her mother's cloth," sharing the same values, strength, and qualities that were passed down through generations. She hoped that the family would lean on each other, asking them to act like a family and to not lose their souls. She also will be remembered fondly for saying “God willing, and the creeks don’t rise.” Donna loved Colorado and corn.
Donna is preceded by her parents, Edwin Ward Prewitt and Frances Cox Prewitt; her loving husband of 19 years, Roger White; son, Johnny White; brother, John Prewitt; and sister, Peggy Flemming.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her sons, Brian Heladio Gomez, Brandon Gomez, and Burton Tyler; daughters, Ramona Rollins, Abigail Gomez, Stephanie White, Sarah Lopez, and Leslie White; brothers, Frank Prewitt, and Mike Prewitt; sister, Pat Frances; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren with one on the way.
Services will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple, with a visitation starting at 11:30 am and funeral immediately following at 1 pm. Burial will be in the family cemetery on the family farm in Moody.
In celebrating the life of Donna Ruth White, we remember her not only as a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend but as a soul whose capacity for love transformed the lives of those fortunate enough to have crossed her path. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts. HEAVEN IS THE PRIZE.
