Donald Viator, Sr.

Services for Donald Joseph Viator, Sr., 85, of Temple, will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home with Father Ranjan Cletus officiating.

Mr. Viator died Tuesday, November 22, at a local hospital.

Donald Viator, Sr. was born October 7, 1931 to Ernest and Lillian Comeaux Viator in New Iberia, Louisiana. Donald graduated from New Iberia High School in June 1948. He served nine years in the Texas Army National Guard, retiring February 14, 1958 with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He married Betty Williams in Temple on December 27, 1966. In 1973, Donald founded Lone Star Drywall Service. Donald was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and camping.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Terrell Beck, Jr.

Donald is survived by his wife of fifty years, Betty; three sons, Donald J. Viator, Jr. and wife Kathy of Decater, Alabama, Rick Beck and wife Marcie of Temple, and Terrell Beck and wife Sherry of Morgans Point; eight daughters, Deborah Blevins and partner Anthony Dunning of Temple; Shelly Fowler and husband Dennis of Morgans Point; Lisa Walker and husband John of Temple; Lori Viator of Belton, Judy Landry and husband Terry of New Iberia, Louisiana, Debra Hutchison and husband James of Victoria, Sharlene McKensie of California, and Donna Goodeaux and husband Tommy of Sulphur, Louisiana; brother Terry DeRoven and wife Jo Lynn of Port Arthur; sister Audrey Fitch and husband Jimmy of Port Arthur; fourteen grandchildren, Lauren Hill, Emily Blevins, Abigail Blevins, Kimberly Hubbard, Kenedy Fowler, Austin Walker, Christopher Walker, Sandy Colvin, Lillian Colvin, Jared Magana, Cody Beck, Courtney Hunt, John Beck, and Christena Beck; seven great-grandchildren, Wesley Hill, Hella Hubbard, Clint Beck, Logan Beck, Shelby Beck, Caitlyn Beck, Conner Hunt and numerous other relatives.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29 at the funeral home. Recitation of Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m.
