Donald Owens

Donald Bunk Owens, 84 of Temple died Saturday, September 15, 2012 at his residence.
A private family graveside service will be held.
Mr. Owens was born January 26, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio to the late James Edward and Eva Elizabeth Collins Owens. He served his country during WWII, Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era from which he retired after 20 plus years of service. He then started working at Scott and White Hospital as an engineer in the engineering department and retired after 22 years of service. He was a past member of the VFW and DAV. He thoroughly adored his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was married to Bettielew Owens and she preceded him in death in 1991.
He is survived by: sons Donald A. Owens, Jr. and wife, Karen of Temple and Alan Owens and wife, Janet of Buffalo, New York, daughters Linda Schmiedekamp and husband, Gary of Temple and Karen Corder and husband Clay of Kerrville, TX., nine grandchildren Adam Paul Owens of Chiplee, Florida, Danielle Lopez of Temple, Matthew Lopez of North Carolina, Ashely Busby and husband Jared of New Berlin, Pa., Justin Schmiedekamp of Waco, and Shannon Altamura and husband Matt of North Carolina, Kelly Lynch of Kerrville, Andrew Ownes and wife Jessica Of Moody, Jessie Maraschello of Buffalo, New York, and two great granddaughters Natalia Lopez of Temple and Rainie Owens of Moody and another blessing due to arrive in October Rowan Altamura of North Carolina.
