Funeral services for David E. Sosa, 49, of Durango, will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 2 pm at Ocker Brethren Church in Zabcikville with Pastor Brad Herridge
officiating. Mr. Sosa passed from this life on Friday, November 3, 2017.
David was born February 13, 1968 in Temple to Gene and Carmen Sosa.
Mr. Sosa was born and raised in the Temple area. He attended Temple High School. After high school, he joined the United States Navy. He courageously served our country
for over 3 years. David was very proud of the fact that he was a Submariner for the Navy. His time in the service was truly one of the things that defined him as a man. In 2002
he met and fell in love with Sandy Oney. They were married on August 24, 2002.
From the time he was a young man he loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing with his family and friends were some of his favorite memories. He also enjoyed an afternoon
on the golf course. He was a good dancer and enjoyed doing so whenever he could. David was a very competitive person no matter if it was games with the kids or bowling
with the whole family he was not going to let you win. Whether to teach a lesson, or just for a good laugh he was a great practical joker. His larger than life personality always
provided a good laugh. He loved to cook, however it was not his strong suit. No matter if it was sloppy joes without meat or mushy spaghetti, he still tried his best. His culinary
talent was yet another source of laughter in his life. One of the things that will be most happily remembered was the time he spent singing in the mornings with his daughter.
Above all else David was a family man. He was a kind soul that loved to be with all of his family. He was a wonderful father, husband and son. He will be greatly missed by
all those who knew and loved him.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 15 years, Sandy Sosa; daughters, Ashley Sosa and Jessica Sosa; sons, Matthew Evan and Trey Evan;
parents, Gene and Carmen Sosa; brother, Stephen Sosa. As well as many family and friends.
A time of visitation and gathering will take place from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
