Obituary

David Paul DesJardins, 51, of Temple, Texas, passed away on March 18, 2026.

David was born on September 17, 1974, in Portland, Oregon, to Pauline Kier. He later made his home in Temple. He was a graduate of Kennewick High School and built a career as a land surveyor, working with Turley Associates. David was known for his strong work ethic and steady, dependable nature.

David had a deep love for music and could often be found listening to his favorite songs or playing guitar. He was a devoted fan of Raiders football and also enjoyed writing poetry. Above all, David cherished time spent with his family. He loved being an uncle—spending time with his nephews picking on his nieces, making them laugh, and creating lasting memories. He was affectionately known as the “rich uncle,” always showing up with generosity, humor, and love. He also cared deeply for his cat, Salem, AKA "Kitty".

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Myron and Fay Montney, aunt, Linda Bell, and nephew Darrell W. Solomon Jr.

David is survived by his mother, Pauline Kier; his sisters, Anna Gomez and Renee Shoultes; his nephews, Roman, Salvador, and Mason Pruitt; Noel and Trevonne Solomon; Anthony and Fernandez Sanders; his nieces, Asia Sanders and Persephone Shoultes; his aunts Barbara Kakalecik and Brenda Montey; uncles, Warren Montey and Wayne (Sheila) Montey, as well as extended family members who will miss him dearly.

David will be remembered as a loving son, brother, and uncle who was always there for his family.

A funeral in David's honor will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 2:00PM at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple, Texas. The family requests that guests dress in silver and black or your favorite Raiders attire.
