Services for David Chambers, 69, of Temple, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 27 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Scott Meyer and Steve Stern officiating. Burial
will follow in Pendleton Cemetery.
Mr. Chambers died Sunday, January 21, at a local hospital.
David DeWayne "Shorty" Chambers was born May 22, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Judge Eugene Chambers and Stella Estelle Helfer Chambers. He served in the United States
Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart and 2 Army Commendation Medals.
David was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wesley Eugene Chambers and Robert Edward Chambers.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marivonne Morgan Chambers; a son, Zebulun Morgan Chambers; two daughters, Autumn Grace Chambers and Stephanie Estelle Chambers;
and two grandchildren.
Donations in David's name may be made to the Pendleton Cemetery Association, 6530 Cedar Creek Road, Temple, Texas 76504.
Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, January 26, at the funeral home.
Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
