David Boyd

September 17, 1954 — November 18, 2017

A Celebration of Life for David Wayne Boyd, 63, of Troy, will be held Tuesday November 21, 2017 at 3 PM at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.

David passed from this life on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at a local hospital while surrounded by his family.

Mr. Boyd was born in Temple on September 17, 1954 to Louis and Maxine Boyd. David was raised in California and as his family all moved back to central Texas so did he. David worked in the die casting industry for most of his life and retired from Aderton Casting in Troy. David was a hard-working man that loved what he did and the people that he did it with. David treasured the time he spent hunting and fishing with friends and family alike. His happy place was his workshop. It was in his workshop he spent many hours fixing and building things. He enjoyed watching football and especially the Oakland Raiders. David had a special place in his heart for animals and most of all his pets. The thing in life David treasured most in life was his family. Being surrounded by his loving family was always what made him the happiest. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mike Boyd and Stephen Boyd; and sisters, Roxana Espinoza and Diane Alvarez.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife of nearly thirty years, Kim Boyd of Troy; brothers, Paul Boyd of Temple, Danny Boyd and wife Barbara of Belton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving family members.
